Our Story
About Our Practice

Committed To Supporting You
I am Dr. Laura Kupperman-Caron, a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of professional experience in working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to empower you to be the best version of yourself. With a humanistic approach and a practice grounded in evidence-based care, I value respect and integrity in my work with clients and I will collaborate with you to find the best treatment options available.
I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2014 and I am licensed in the State of Illinois (License # 071.010882) and Florida (License # PY9118). I also have a PSYPACT designation (Mobility Number 17493) giving me authority to practice virtually across state lines. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, which is an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. I completed an APA accredited internship and residency program in clinical health psychology at the Department of Veteran Affairs. Furthermore, I have over a decade of clinical experience in federal service working with veterans and their families and have received evidenced based training for reproductive mental health, insomnia, couples therapy, PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, and substance use. At the Department of Veteran Affairs, I have served as a national consultant and lead trainer to large scale interdisciplinary medical and mental health treatment teams and as a clinical supervisor to doctoral level providers.
In my free time, I love to be with my two daughters, my husband, and elderly French bulldogs. I enjoy being physically active, reading, travel and food, and exploring the city of Chicago. I am also the daughter of a Vietnam-era combat veteran.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pay for mental health care?
I am currently paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United/Optum. If you have any of these insurance carriers, all or part of your mental health care may be covered. With your permission, I may clarify your benefits for you prior to your initial visit, so you have an understanding of the cost upfront. For clients with other insurance carriers, I would be considered an out-of-network provider, but I can offer a superbill to help with the reimbursement process. For out of network clients, you will also receive a good faith estimate of the cost of your service.
Please note some services I do offer are not covered by insurance (e.g., workplace support evaluations) and would be charged at the private pay rate as noted.
What is the process to engage in care?
Depending on your preference, you can schedule a brief consultation call or an initial intake. See Request Appointment option to see available times. I am also happy to answer questions by email.
Will my visits be virtual or in person?
I am primarily a virtual care provider. I utilize a secure and HIPPA compliant program for our virtual visits and offer the same level of care virtually as you would receive in person. I do have limited slots available for in-person care in Chicago.
How long will my appointment be?
It depends on the type of appointment you select. Initial intakes and follow-up appointments for psychotherapy are typically 60 minutes in duration. Psychological testing appointments may range from 4-6 hours depending on the referral question and the tests selected. Workplace support assessments range from 1-2.5 hours. Individual peer or interdisciplinary consultation may range from 30-60 minutes and group consultation times may vary. You may confirm the duration of your appointment at the time of booking.
